Yes, it was the Raiders' win against the first Horizon League team they faced. Yes, they defeated a Cleveland State team that won the Horizon League Title last season. And yes, they did it with a big point spread. But it was something else too.

It snapped a winless streak that has lasted the better part of two and-a-half years.

The win, which was broadcasted on ESPN U, was the first win Wright State has had on national television since the end of the 2006-2007 season. That win came against Butler in the Horizon League Championship.

"We have lost quite a few games on T.V.," said Cooper Land, who finished with 14, including making three from behind the arc. "It's pretty good to get a win in front of a (television) audience."

In addition to the win, the Raiders showed a lot of promise for what is to come for the remainder of the season.

Five Raiders scored in double digits - Land, Vaughn Duggins, Scott Grote, Troy Tabler and Cory Cooperwood - and Cooperwood had a double-double as he pulled down 10 rebounds as well.

The game started out as a back and forth battle, but when Wright State took a 15-14 lead at the 10:10 mark, they never relinquished it. The rest of the game slowly went more and more in the Raiders' favor until Cooperwood sealed the win with a dunk in the closing minutes.

Despite the impressive numbers on the score sheet, it was what the Raider did that did not appear on the score sheet that impressed head coach Brad Brownell.

"Our defense was good," said Brownell. "Our activity level was good and I was pleased our guys were able to keep the lead extended throughout the second half, which is something we haven't much. So that was really good to see."

Injury Report

Ronnie Thomas saw limited playing time Thursday night after tweaking his back in the first half. His status for Saturday's game against Youngstown is unknown.

Vaughn Duggins, who injured his knee in practice earlier in the week, only practiced for one hour Wednesday and that was the reason he wasn't in the starting line-up on Thursday. It was hard to notice he was injured as he scored 10 points and had three assists.
