It was all WSU in the early going as the Raiders led by three before scoring the next nine points, four from Cory Cooperwood, to go up 19-7 with 12:47 remaining in the first half. Wright State later extended the margin to 30-16 at the 5:15 mark with an 8-2 run, four of those by N’Gai Evans.

Northeastern, however, closed the period with a 17-7 burst, seven coming from Baptiste Bataille, to close the gap to 37-33 at the half.

The Raiders hit 13 of 26 shots in the first half, including five of 10 from three-point range, while the Huskies shot 43 percent from the field overall and was five of nine from behind the arc.

Northeastern scored the initial seven points of the second half to take the lead for the first time at 40-37, only to see Wright State regain the advantage at 45-42 on a Ronnie Thomas three with 14:06 left. The Huskies again led by three at 50-47 as Matt Janning converted a three-point play at the 11:04 mark and another three from the senior guard pushed the margin to 64-57 with 3:45 to play.

The Raiders, though, rallied to go back up one at 67-66 with a 10-2 run, capped off by a Vaughn Duggins four-point play at the 1:16 mark.

That would be the final points of the game for Wright State, however, as Allen hit one of two foul shots with 39 seconds left to tie it and, after a missed jumper on the Raiders’ next possession, connected on a three as the horn sounded to win it.

Both teams hit 24 of 51 shots for the game, with Wright State going nine of 21 from three-point range and Northeastern eight of 15. The Huskies, however, also hit 14 of 17 at the foul line compared to 10 of 12 for the Raiders.

Todd Brown led the Raiders with 17 points while Duggins had 16 and Troy Tabler eight off the bench.

Allen paced all scorers with 21 for Northeastern (2-2) while Janning had 15, Bataille 14 off the bench and Manny Adako 11.

Wright State (3-2) now turns its attention to the start of Horizon League play next week as the Raiders host Cleveland State on Thursday, December 3, at 9:00 followed by Youngstown State on Saturday, December 5, at 7:00. The CSU contest will be televised live on ESPNU.
