With under a minute to go Wright State junior Vaughn Duggins made a pair of free-throws followed by Todd Brown going 1-2 from the line to capture the victory.

"A win is a win," said Cory Cooperwood, who had a game high 16 points. "It wasn't pretty (at the end), but we did what we had to do to win."

Wright State trailed early on until a jump-shot by N'Gai Evans at the 11:28 mark gave the Raiders a 16-15 lead. The basket gave the Raiders momentum as Ronnie Thomas hit a three-point shot and Evans followed-up with a jump-shot. A few minutes later Evans, finished off the 16-5 run for the Raiders with a pair of free-throws to make it 28-20 with 7:43 remaining in the half.

The Panthers were able to slowly pull back and made it a two point game twice. But it was a jump-shot from Evans with just four seconds remaining that gave the Raiders a 39-35 lead at the half.

The Raiders came out firing in the second half. After allowing Milwaukee to score the opening basket of the half Wright State went on a 7-0 run to take a 46-37 lead. That work was quickly erased though as the Panthers went on a 6-0 run of their own.

With 6:01 remaining in the game Duggins drained a jumper to give Wright State at 61-52 lead, the team's largest of the night.

But then the Panthers went on their second scoring run of the half a shot from Ja'Rob McCallum knotted the score up at 61-61.

Evans stepped up and made a pair of free-throws followed by a driving lay-up to give the Raiders a 65-61 lead. After a basket from Milwaukee's James Eayrs is when the Raiders made their pivotal free-throws.

Todd Brown was the second leading scorer with 15 points and is now the 12th all-time leading scorer in the Horizon League with 1,390 for his career.

Wright State (16-9, 9-5) will now take on the University of Wisconsin - Green Bay on Saturday at 7 p.m. in the Nutter Center.
