Oh yeah, and they beat the Panthers 70-60.

The win snaps a two game skid for Wright State and puts them at 17-12 on the season overall and 11-6 against Horizon League opponents.

The win was a crucial one for the Raiders. Had they lost, they would have ended up fifth in the Horizon League standings. Now, with a win over Green Bay on Saturday and a Cleveland State loss, the Raiders could end up as high as third in the final league standing.

It is a standpoint that didn't look possible after last week's 77-66 loss in overtime to UIC and a 69-57 loss to Northeastern. Now the Raiders look to be right back in the thick of things again.

"We had a tough week last week when we played pretty well against UIC and lost in overtime when we had a chance to win it. Then we just got out played by a very good Northeastern team," said head coach Brad Brownell. "We knew that we needed to pick ourselves off the matt and have a good week."

To go along with all the individual scoring high points, Wright State also 43 points in the second half of Thursday's game. The last time the Raiders scored that many points in a half was against Cleveland State back in December, when they had 44 points in the second half.

"Guys made plays," said head coach Brad Brownell. "We cut to the basket a few more times, took care of the ball better and made better decisions."

Fun Quote

Scott Grote has the unfortunate task of guarding James Eayrs on Thursday night. The Panther is one of the biggest players in the league standing 6-feet-7-inches tall and weighing in at 340 pounds.
